Terms of Service
Effective 2026-05-19. By using the dish-embed API you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Latimal ("we", "us") operates the dish-embed API at
https://dish-embed.latimal.com. The API provides food-domain machine learning capabilities including embedding, deduplication, search, classification, and menu reporting. You ("Customer") access the service using an API key we issue.2. Account & API keys
API keys are confidential and tied to your account. You are responsible for keeping them secret and for all usage incurred under your keys. If you suspect a key is compromised, contact us immediately and we will revoke and re-issue it. We may revoke a key we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the service.
3. Credits & billing
The service is metered in prepaid credits. Credits are consumed per API call based on the endpoint and number of items. When a request would exceed your remaining balance, the API returns HTTP 402 and the call is not billed. Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased except where required by applicable law. Credits do not expire.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to process content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or ours;
- Probe, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract model weights, training data, or proprietary taxonomies;
- Resell raw API access without a separate written agreement;
- Submit volumes designed to cause denial of service to other customers.
5. Customer data
Inputs you send to the API are processed solely to fulfil your request. We do not use customer inputs to train or fine-tune our models. Request logs (containing endpoint, timestamps, item counts, and content hashes; not raw text) are retained for up to 30 days for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Intellectual property
The dish-embed models, taxonomies, code, and benchmarks are our proprietary intellectual property. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the API and the outputs you receive in your products, including commercial use.
7. Availability & service level
We target 99.5% uptime measured monthly, excluding scheduled maintenance and force majeure. Current status is published at /status. The service is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee that the outputs will be free of errors or suitable for any particular purpose without independent verification on your end.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 10,000. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, including non-payment or abuse. On termination, your access ends but credits purchased remain refundable on a pro-rata basis only where required by law.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address on file and reflected by an updated effective date above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
